ProgramsCelebration of Life Scholarship was founded on the belief that any motivated individual in need should have the opportunity to further his or her education. By removing some of the financial burdens associated with going to, surviving in, and graduating from college, the COLS plays a vital role in increasing college access and success for many motivated yet underserved youth and young adults. The COLS provides individual grants, paid directly to the educational institution, to every student who qualifies and reapplies yearly, from admission to graduation. The grant can be used to cover tuition expenses and related supplemental educational expenses such as books, lab fees, travel and select costs of living. All Celebration of Life Scholarship recipients are required to “give back” by conducting community service and by serving as mentors to younger, aspiring scholars.

EventsJune 13th Annual Celebration of Life Weekend Our annual outreach weekend encouraging community resident to “Stop the Violence”, register to vote, and to become aware of health status. The events offered during this weekend are Fitness & Self- Defense, Save Our Streets Concert, Hooping for Hope All-Star Basketball Game, and A Family that Worships Sunday Service. August Annual Family Day & Softball Game Our annual Back 2 School celebration. Each year we partner with an organization to hand out school supplies to students for the new school year. We also host a picnic and Charity Softball Game. October 1st - November 30th Gifts For Charity Our annual toy and clothing drive where we collect new and well kept used clothes and toys for various shelters throughout the city. |
